We are a team of data scientists and computer programmers with a vision to democratize data. We have a deep passion for technology, data, and people.
Everyone on the CFTG executive team either has a full-time job or attends school full-time. We are driven by a strong intrinsic drive to give back to our community.
Our team works together closely to user-test, brain-storm product improvements, solve technical issues, and direct organizational purpose. Our international team hails from Spain, Sri Lanka, Oman, India, United States and Canada.
Meara Erwin is a data scientist at the Stanford Research Institute International (SRI International), California, where she brings a quantitative lens to understanding complex sociopolitical issues. Meara Founded Code for the Globe to democratize data and empower individuals all over the world. She has a passion for data-driven change, and getting things done.
Founder & President
Rashid Al-Abri is a Computer Science student at Stanford interested in genomics and big data. In his free time, you'll find him experimenting in the kitchen, writing poetry or planning his next adventure.
Co-Founder
Dan Niles is an undergraduate studying Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Dan likes spending time reading books, doing photography and playing football.
Head of Communications
Tharuka Kannagara has worked in several software companies in Sri Lanka and Canada, while partnering with her husband to start their own business. Her core area of work has been software testing. Marketing and business is her passion so she enjoys coming up with business strategies and goals. Tharuka likes to spend her free time going on long walks, camping and gardening.
